Introduction to Piedmontese cuisine and its special features
Duration: Half Day
ID: m24o54237
A private Turin Gourmet Tour for groups arriving by coach or as a leisure program as part of a business event. Turin is the capital of slow food and the region of Piedmont is leading the health food and organic farming movement of Italy. Turin has an interesting history and a remarkable cityscape with its Baroque buildings and open squares. It is the home of Fiat automobile company and the interactive National Cinema Museum. It is a great place to visit as a stopover or a long weekend.
Compared to bustling Milan, Turin appears a little more tranquil. The many beautiful baroque palaces and the castle gardens characterize the cityscape. Turin is famous for Fiat automobiles being built here and for the Shroud of Jesus. We feel that the Piazza Castello in the heart of Turin is more impressive than the square in front of the Duomo in Milan. It is more open and inviting and it is home to numerous attractions, cafes, and restaurants.
During this gourmet tour of Turin, you can admire the wonderful city of Turin with its imposing Baroque buildings, historical cafés and elegant galleries and charming squares. You will get a lot of information about its place in history and the local culinary traditions. You will find that Turin is a real paradise for gourmets and in general for lovers of slow food. The large Porta Palazzo market is certainly a must for all visitors who are interested in good food and specialties from the Bel Paese, the beautiful country, and beyond.
Accompanied by your local guide, you have the opportunity to try the typical Turin Bicerin drink made of chocolate, coffee, and cream. We will bring you to one of the magnificent historical cafes. After the city walk tour and taking in the flair of this city, we will take you to a nice place for a wine and food tasting. You can try different types of local sausages, paired with two excellent local wines, a white Arneis and a red Nebbiolo.
If you love wine and want to upgrade the tasting we can expand the selection and include a glass of Barolo, the crown jewel of Piedmontese wine production. On request, the tour can also end with a group lunch to taste more local specialties or a full 3-course set menu.
The indicated price has been calculated for 20 participants incl. licenced guide and tasting menu. This price is for orientation only. Please send us your request with detailed requirements for an updated calculation.
