The Arena of Verona

Verona is famous for its Arena Amphitheatre, that was built in the 1st century AD by the Romans. The round façade was originally built in pink and white limestone. During the Middle Ages part of the Arena was destructed, to use its stones as construction material for buildings.

Tickets for the Arena of Verona

The Arena is the second largest amphitheatre after the Roman Colosseum. It can host more than 22,000 spectators for operas, performed within its walls during the summer months.

The Arena Amphitheatre is found in Piazza Bra, the central square of Verona, that was in the the Roman lawn „Pratum“.

How to reach Verona

By Car - A4 Motorway SERENISSIMA, Milan-Venice, exit Verona Sud or by taking the A22 Motorway Brennero-Modena, followed by the A4 Motorway Milan-Venice, direction Venice, exit Verona Sud. Then follow the signs for all directions ('tutte le direzioni) followed by the signs for the city centre.

By Bus

The city centre is conected to the surrounding towns and the Garda Lake by public busses . the bus station is situated opposite the train station (APTV Service).

By Train

The main railway station is VERONA PORTA NUOVA.

There are direct trains and InterCity trains from all the main railway stations in Northern Italy (Milan, Venice, Brennero).

City buses take you into the city centre in Piazza Bra, the central square where the Arena Amphitheatre.

By Plane

The international Airport od Verona is Catullo in Villafranca, situated approximately 10 km of the city centre.

There is a shuttle bus service every 20 minutes from 06.00 to 23.30.

The airport bus terminal is outside Porta Nuova Railway Station.

Other international Airports of Northern Italy are Milan Malpensa, Milan Linate and Bergamo Orio. Travelling information to Milan
